Though I have been writing about music for a number of years, it has been a lifelong love affair.  From dancing to old LPs in the living room of my childhood home, to festival-hopping in my 20's, and now valuing close listening in quiet environments, consuming and appreciating a wide variety of music has been a constant in my life.  I am so grateful to be able to maintain this site and share sounds with you now.

I am based in Portland, Oregon, and have reported on the local music scene for a handful of widely-read publications.  Commissions aside, this blog-turned-website has been my own creative outlet for the past six years.  Since I am a full-time middle school teacher, DC is a passion project, but one that I care about very much.
